THE RED EAGLES
Kedah Football Association are one of the most successful clubs in Malaysian football. They have won the Malaysia Cup five times, major league title four times, the Malaysia FA Cup five times and have claimed a quarter finalist in Asian Club Championships (AFC Cup). Our last championship winning, Kedah as 2019 FA Cup Champion has secured a slot to 2020 Asian Football Confederation Cup Champions League Preliminary Stage.
Kedah have also produced more than 50 internationals for the national team, including the likes of Ahmad Sobri Ismail, Azmi Mahmud, Radhi Mat Din, Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah, in 70’s/80’s and Baddrol Bakhtiar, Khairul Helmi Johari, Mohd Syazwan Zainon, Khyril Muhymeen in recent years.
The club’s distinctive colours – yellow-and-green – have become the symbol a team respected and feared throughout the country.
Beginning from the Semi-Pro era in late 80’s, foreign players of the calibre of Rincic Bratislav, Marcos Magno Tavares, Marlon Alex James, Liridon Krasniqi have since donned the famous jersey. Not content to just competing regionally, the Red Eagles have also played high profile friendlies against some of the world’s famous team – USA World Cup Team 94 Team, Brazil selection team in 2007 as part of their charity in June 2014 as a treat for the fans.
Playing at iconic Darul Aman Stadium, the 35,000-capacity arena is home to a passionate Kedah support famed for the atmosphere they generate.
